The sacred occasion of Mahasivarathri is traditionally celebrated grandly and devoutly in the Temple of Lord Arunachaleswarar at Thiruvannamalai every year!
On this year’s (2022) Mahasivarathri Festival, the temple corridors at Thiruvannamalai temple were opened early morning 3.30 AM and special Abhishekhams and Aaradhana were performed on the deities of Lord Sri Arunachaleswarar and His Consort Goddess Unnamulaiamman.
‘Lakshaarchana’ was performed from early morning 5.00 AM at the main Sanctum Sanctorum of Lord Sri Arunachaleswarar.
