Gold and silver prices in Chennai have witnessed a slight decline in today’s morning session, bringing a minor relief for buyers after yesterday’s stable trend.
As per the latest update, the price of 22-carat gold has decreased by ₹180 per gram and is now trading at ₹13,820 per gram. Similarly, 18-carat gold has dropped by ₹150 and is priced at ₹11,530 per gram.
Silver prices have also seen a marginal dip of ₹5 and are currently at ₹265 per gram.
This decline comes after prices remained steady on May 4, when 22K gold was at ₹14,000 and silver at ₹270. The downward movement indicates a mild correction in the market, possibly influenced by global cues and currency fluctuations.
Market experts suggest that gold prices may continue to show slight volatility in the coming days depending on international market trends, inflation data, and rupee movement.
For jewellery buyers, this dip presents a slightly better opportunity compared to yesterday, while investors are advised to keep a close watch on daily price changes before making decisions.
