Gold prices in Chennai remained stable on the morning of May 8, 2026, after yesterday’s upward trend in the bullion market. While gold rates saw no change today, silver prices moved slightly higher, attracting the attention of traders and investors across Tamil Nadu.

According to the latest morning market update, the price of 22-carat gold continues to be sold at ₹14,150 per gram in Chennai, unchanged from yesterday’s closing rate. On May 7, gold prices had increased by ₹50 per gram, reaching the current level.

Similarly, 18-carat gold prices also remained steady today. The latest rate for 18Kt gold stands at ₹11,810 per gram, the same as yesterday’s price after the previous increase of ₹40 per gram.

Meanwhile, silver prices registered a rise of ₹5 per gram in today’s morning session. Silver is now being sold at ₹280 per gram in Chennai’s bullion market, compared to yesterday’s rate of ₹275 per gram.

Today’s Gold and Silver Rates in Chennai – May 8, 2026 (Morning)

– 22Kt Gold: ₹14,150 per gram (No Change)

– 18Kt Gold: ₹11,810 per gram (No Change)

Market analysts say gold prices are currently holding steady due to fluctuations in international bullion markets, global economic uncertainty, inflation concerns, and currency movements. Silver prices, however, continue to witness mild volatility.
