Gold prices in Chennai continued their downward trend today, offering slight relief for buyers. The price of 22-carat gold has decreased by ₹80 per gram and is currently trading at ₹14,570 per gram.
Along with gold, silver prices have also declined. The price of silver dropped by ₹5 per gram and is now at ₹275.00 per gram in Chennai.
As per the latest market rates, 24-carat gold (pure gold) is priced at ₹15,894 per gram, while 8 grams of 24K gold costs ₹1,27,152. Meanwhile, 22-carat gold (jewellery gold) is being sold at ₹1,16,560 for 8 grams.
The fall in gold prices is mainly driven by global economic factors, including fluctuations in international gold markets, the strengthening of the US dollar, and changes in demand and supply. Investor sentiment and ongoing economic uncertainties have also contributed to the price movement.
