Gold prices in Chennai have gone up today, bouncing back after yesterday’s drop. The brief dip didn’t last long, as rates have moved higher again this morning.
As per the latest update, 22-carat gold has increased by ₹100 per gram, bringing the price to ₹14,200 per gram. That means one sovereign (8 grams) now costs about ₹1,13,600.
18-carat gold has also risen by ₹90 per gram, and is now priced at ₹11,850 per gram.

Silver has followed the same trend. Its price has gone up by ₹5 per gram, reaching ₹270 per gram. So, 1 kg of silver is now priced at ₹2,70,000.
